If you examine each item, chances are you will find several things created by a graphic designer. The book bag and pen each display company logos. The book has several graphics or illustrations. The web site has a cool design and animated features. The fact is, nearly everything has a “graphic identity” now. This helps people recognize different brands and companies.

    Program Overview

    The Associate of Applied Business Degree in Graphic Design prepares students for successful careers in advertising, marketing, promotion or printing. Graduates may enter their career field in entry-level jobs such as computer production artist, advertising designer, brand identity designer, desktop publisher, freelance artist, illustrator, web designer or cartoonist. Employers include publishing firms, advertising agencies, marketing firms, record companies, brand identity firms, in house advertising departments, web design firms, promotional companies and sign companies. This program stresses fundamental design theory and practices studied through real-world design exercises and projects. Graphic Design students will develop the skills necessary to conceive an idea, nurture it and develop it. Skills in creativity will be simultaneously supported with skills in computer graphics to create functional and interesting visual communications that provide powerful impact on the viewer.
