Do you get nervous when presenting at company meetings? Do you find it hard to make conversation at gatherings and social events? Do you clam up in social situations? If so, this program is for you! It's aimed at all who want to improve their speaking skills in informal situations. We'll give participants the confidence and the skills to interact with others, to speak in informal situations, and to present in front of small groups.
The following outline highlights some of the course's key learning points. As part of your training program, we will modify content as needed to meet your business objectives. Upon request, we will provide you with a copy of the participant materials prior to the session(s).
You Can Talk to Me: Good Communication Skills
To begin, participants will share communication opportunities that they feel they have missed in the past few weeks. Then, they will explore barriers to communication and consider possible solutions. We will then look at two key interpersonal skills: asking questions and listening.
You Don't Say: Self-Disclosure
During this part of the program, participants will learn about self-disclosure using the Johari Windows concept. Next, they will learn about and practice the four levels of conversation.
Wonder Women and Super Men: Re-Designing for Strength
During this segment, participants will learn about the seven components of a good speaker and how to present a professional image.
Come Together Right Now: Maximizing Meetings
Next, participants will discuss 15 ways to make the most of meetings. They will also have an opportunity to identify situations they find difficult and brainstorm some solutions.
Tell Me a Story: Impromptu Practice
To demonstrate what they have learned, participants will make a small, impromptu presentation.
