Course description
The Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Alabama State University prepares accounting majors for life-long learning through not just teaching, but coaching students in the knowledge and skills required for the business world.
Inside the classroom, you’ll learn the principles of accounting through courses that emphasize the development of critical thinking, effective oral and written communication, problem solving, teamwork and the use of current information technology tools.
Outside the classroom, you will frequently interact with business leaders, governmental agencies and professional groups, all with the goal of exposing you to the many facets of international business and professional ethics. Programs such as our Business Cooperative Education Program allow you to secure paid business internships, which will greatly enhance your resume once you graduate. In addition, community service is a core commitment of ASU’s accounting program.
With a B.S. in Accounting from ASU, you will be fully prepared to enter a wide variety of professional careers in public, industrial or governmental accounting or to pursue graduate and professional training in the field.
