  • Course description
    The Wake Forest Full-time MBA program will immerse you in a hands-on environment.  We believe in learning by doing. You will learn and practice consulting, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and operations management, giving you the experience you need to understand organizations and how they work.

    Our top-ranked program focuses on entrepreneurial approaches to business problems; it’s part of what sets us apart from other MBA programs. We encourage students to think in new and surprising ways about what constitutes an entrepreneurial enterprise. This expanded view means that Wake Forest MBAs find unexpected opportunities in a wide variety of business settings. They also learn to compete and to lead; these two skills are critical to a successful businessperson. Our integrated curriculum, corporate connections, and career concentrations allow Wake Forest MBAs to develop and deploy a broad range of skills in careers that mesh with their professional goals.     Application Instructions: Full-time MBA


    Applicants must submit the following items for a complete admissions file:

    Application, Application Fee

        * Online application is required for all applicants.
        * $75.00 non-refundable application fee payable by major credit card.

    Two Essays

        
    * Two essays are required for all applicants.
          Exception: Done in a Day participants may forgo writing the essays in exchange for a panel interview.  If you have registered and confirmed your participation in Done in Day, please type “attending Done in a Day event” in a Word document for uploading your essays, then submit your application.
        
    * Applicants may submit essay #3 (optional) to explain areas of concern to the Admissions Committee.
        
    * Applicants desiring to be considered for the Dingledine Scholar for Positive Social Impact award must submit the Dingledine Scholar essay by the scholarship deadline of March 1.
        
    * Current essay questions:

    (1) Why are you interested in a graduate business degree from Wake Forest University? How will a graduate business degree help you achieve your short-term and long-term goals?

    (2) What, if any, cultural norms, ways of life, practices or beliefs will people who live 100 years from now look back and say, "How did they tolerate that?"

    Resume

        * Resume is required for all applicants.
        * Recommended format: use the Resume Template found in the Downloadable Forms section.

    GMAT / GRE

        * All applicants must take either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  
        * GMAT test registration information is available at www.mba.com.  Use the Wake Forest Univ. Schools of Business Full-time MBA institution code R5F-NS-86.
        * GRE test registration information is available at www.ets.org/gre. Use the Wake Forest Univ. Schools of Business institution code 4250.

    TOEFL / PTE

        * Applicants whose native language is not English and/or whose principal language of university instruction was not English must submit scores from either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or PTE (Pearson Test of English). Exception: applicants who have completed their undergraduate work at an English-speaking college or university are not required to take the TOEFL or PTE.

    Two Recommendations

        * Two online recommendations are required for all applicants.
        * Recommendations should be completed by an immediate manager (preferred) and/or a former manager, customer or colleague who can assess your professional skills.  Faculty members are not recommended.
        * Do not submit additional recommendations, as they will not strengthen an application.
        * A recommender can complete and submit the online recommendation before an application is submitted.  

    Transcripts


        * Official transcripts are required from any college or university from which you earned a degree.
        * Use the Transcript Request Form found in the Downloadable Forms section (or use the form requested by the specific college.
        * Electronic transcripts are preferred and should be emailed directly from the college/university to Ginny Kerlin in the Office of Graduate Business Admissions.
        * If electronic transcripts are unavailable, paper transcripts should be mailed by the college/university in a sealed envelope directly to Wake Forest University                                         
        * If academic transcripts are not in English, a notarized, English translation must be submitted.  
        * International applicants may submit a certified copy in place of the original transcript. All international applicants should submit transcripts for official evaluation to World Education Services (www.wes.org).

    Interview

        * Interviews are by invitation only after the online application has been submitted.
        * The Admissions Committee reserves the right to require an interview before making a final decision on any application.



    Program Eligibility: Full-time MBA


    The Wake Forest University Schools of Business seek individuals who have demonstrated achievement through academic coursework, professional experience and community involvement. Wake Forest looks for leadership ability, motivation, focus, enthusiasm, strong values and teamwork skills in its prospective students.

    For Fall 2010 enrollment, candidates must meet the following criteria:

       1. Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. All undergraduate majors will be considered.
       2. Have at least 24 months of full-time, post-graduate work experience prior to August 2010.  Exception: Non-traditional applicants who have work experience prior to enrolling in an undergraduate program.  Non-traditional applicants may include military officers, religious servants, etc.
