B.A. in Sports Management

    You love sports, and you're happiest while on the court,  field or track. You might think that sports are only recreational, an activity for your spare time. But, you don't have to a professional athlete to pursue a rewarding career in sports. In fact, the sports and recreation industry is booming, accounting for more than $60 billion in spending each year. Trained professionals are needed at fitness clubs, corporate fitness programs, community health centers, professional sport franchises and more.

    Lewis University's sports management program will prepare you for employment in this industry, whether you plan to manage a fitness program, open a sporting goods store or work for a pro sports team.

    This interdisciplinary program combines courses from fitness, health science, technology and business. As a student, you will master the mechanics of physiology. You will learn how to create safe, effective fitness programs. And you wi'll develop essential management skills.

    As a graduate, you will be ready to assume a leadership position, helping others attain their fitness and health goals … while remaining active yourself!


    SPORT MANAGEMENT/BACHELOR OF ARTS

    Major Credit Hours: 59

    Sport Management majors are required to complete all core courses and 18 hours of electives.  The capstone course of the curriculum is 16-480 Sport Management Internship.  In order to enroll in this class, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 in the seven prerequisite courses, have submitted the application form by the appropriate deadline, and have been given consent by the Sport Management Program Director.
