  • Course description The courses in the Associate of Applied Science in Airframe Technology Degree Program are designed to provide the necessary educational opportunities through classroom and laboratory teaching for a person to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to enter the industry as an entry-level Airframe Technician. Graduates will be eligible to take the Federal Aviation Administration examinations. Upon successful completion of the written exams, the graduate will be eligible to take the oral and practical examinations to complete the requirements for the FAA Airframe Certificate. With the FAA Airframe Certificate, the airframe technician may enter a number of employment areas, such as general aviation, fixed-base operations, executive aircraft services, major airlines, aircraft contractors, modification operations, and manufacturers as airframe technicians or technical writers. The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Airframe Technology consists of 63 credit hours and 1314 contact hours, and is 40 weeks in length.
